Gold

I told our neighbors that our zoo membership was "worth its weight in gold", which was, I admit, a bit of an exaggeration.

Maybe fifteen years ago but not in this market. Gold prices have risen to $1,742.12 per ounce and our membership pass weighs .17 ounces (about the weight of a credit card.) If made of gold, the pass would cost $296 and we only paid half that.

The point I was trying to make is that our kids love the zoo. My neighbors probably think I’m an idiot.
